AICE Chiropractic Neurorehabilitation are presenting a webinar on ‘Fibromyalgia, Movement Dysfunction & the Case for Functional Neurorehabilitation’ to be held Wednesday 19 August 2026 and presented by Dr Nicole Quodling.

We explore fibromyalgia through the lens of functional neurology and movement science, reframing the condition as a disorder of brain-body communication and movement confidence rather than solely a pain syndrome.

While fibromyalgia is traditionally approached through pain reduction strategies, clinicians frequently observe broader functional impairments, including postural instability, fatigue, cognitive interference, and kinesiophobia. These features suggest underlying disturbances in sensory integration, motor planning, and nervous system threat processing.

Drawing on current literature and clinical insights, the webinar examines the emerging evidence that motor control deficits are core features of fibromyalgia, not merely secondary effects of pain. The presentation outlines how pain, fear, and inactivity can drive a self-reinforcing cycle that progressively reduces movement confidence and functional capacity.
