Pharma Influence on Indigenous Communities Webinar

27 May @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

Free - $99.00

The ARRPN group are presenting a webinar on Pharma Influence on Indigenous Communities to be held Wednesday 27 May 2026 and presented by Dr Troy Walker.

This webinar will cover the influence of the pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry on the health and wellbeing of First Nations people.

The commercial determinants of health (CDoH) are a recent and evolving space looking into the systems, practices and pathways in which commercial actors can affect health and equity.

The pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry, by default of much of their privitisation, are acknowledged commercial determinants of health; but the ways in which they may influence the health and wellbeing of First Nations people – good, bad or indifferent – is largely unknown.

Dr Troy Walker’s research looks into this unknown space and is guided by knowledge provided by First Nations and non-Indigenous expertise in the pharmacy and pharmaceutical sector to learn more about both industries impacts over time and in the Australian context.
