Back on the Pitch: Return-to-Play in International Rugby will explore the complexities of managing injured players in international rugby.
The presentation will cover the challenges of overseeing player health during national camps, coordinating communication across multidisciplinary staff (including S & C and technical coaches), and navigating differing medical and performance systems across countries such as France, Italy, and England.
It will also outline the frameworks and planning systems used to manage injuries, guide return-to-play decisions, and manage player availability in a high-performance international setting.

- Dr Francesco Fronzoni
- Biography
Dr Francesco Fronzoni is a physiotherapist and chiropractor with an extensive international background in sports rehabilitation and research. After graduating in Physiotherapy in Italy, he earned a Master's Degree in Chiropractic and a Master's Degree in Research from Macquarie University in Australia, as well as a Master's Degree in Sports Physiotherapy in the United Kingdom. He is currently completing a PhD at La Trobe University (Australia).
He has lived and worked in Scotland, Australia and Italy, working primarily in professional rugby, including the Glasgow Warriors. He is currently Head of Physiotherapy for the Italian Rugby Federation, where he coordinates the national physiotherapy system and works with the senior men's team. Francesco also teaches master's programs in sports physiotherapy at the Universities of Siena, Rome, and Bath.
