In recognition of International Women’s Day 2026 and this year’s theme, Balance the Scales, the Women in Chiropractic group is proud to present an important and timely webinar with psychologist Shona Sim.
Domestic and Family Violence Informed Practice
Chiropractors are often in a unique position of trust and continuity of care, which can place them on the frontline of recognising and responding to domestic and family violence (DFV). This webinar will equip practitioners with foundational knowledge and practical insights to better understand DFV and respond in a safe, trauma-informed manner.
Shona Sim will guide attendees through what constitutes domestic and family violence, the key indicators practitioners may observe in clinical practice, and how to respond appropriately while maintaining professional boundaries and patient safety.
Key learning points include:
-
What constitutes domestic and family violence
- Common indicators and red flags of DFV
- Trauma-informed approaches to responding to DFV in practice
This session supports chiropractors to contribute to safer outcomes for patients while promoting equity, awareness, and informed care—helping to truly balance the scales in health and wellbeing.
