Join Mr Mark Werman from Wentworth Advantage for this presentation, where he will provide practical guidance for final-year chiropractic students and new graduates on how to successfully secure their first role and avoid common employment pitfalls.
The session will cover how to prepare an effective resume and cover letter, strategies for approaching employers and networking within the profession, and how to prepare for and perform well in interviews.
It will also introduce key employment law concepts relevant to new graduates, including the National Employment Standards, the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020, employment contracts, and the difference between being engaged as an employee or an independent contractor.
Attendees will gain practical tools to help them secure their first professional role and confidently navigate the early stages of their career.

Mark Werman is a workplace relations and HR specialist with over 30 years’ experience advising professional associations, employers and senior executives across Australia.
He leads the ACA HR Advisory Service, which provides HR and workplace advice to ACA members on employment law, industrial relations and practice management issues. Mark regularly presents to professional groups on employment law, leadership and workplace management, and works closely with organisations to help them build productive, compliant and positive workplaces.
