Spinal Health Week 2023

Spinal Health Week has officially wrapped up for 2023 and we would like to first and foremost thank our ACA members who helped to make this year’s campaign one of the most outstanding public engagement campaigns to date. There can be no doubt that the invaluable contribution of ACA members enabled this year’s Spinal Health Week to be a resounding success!

The ACA Marcomms team was thrilled to see so many members (right across Australia) sharing Spinal Health Week content across their social media platforms. From sharing campaign statistics and videos to setting up information stalls in shopping centres and headache-themed workshops – this year ACA members really threw themselves in and got involved. The dedication and enthusiasm of our members have been instrumental in raising awareness and promoting our 2023 theme ‘Headaches Holding You Back? Consult a Chiro.’

This year was also the final installment of the Consider a Chiro campaign, with the word ‘consider’ changing to ‘consult’. It was also the first year ACA employed a digital marketing agency, alongside our PR agency, to run a strategic paid campaign to target key audiences across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. It is crucial that ACA steps up into the present with digital marketing, especially as a vast number of key audiences are predominantly engaged online. For example, one of our YouTube videos directed toward students with headaches received over 49,000 views.

Spinal Health Week began with a fantastic launch on Sunday 21 May at Dr John Petrozzi’s Leichhardt clinic: Body Mind Central. It was a strong start to the week with Channel 7 and Channel 9 news showing up for the event. The launch started with a great presentation to the media led by ACA president, Dr David Cahill and ACA member, Dr Kim Lie Jom. Kim also brought along two key headache patients as case studies for the media.

Throughout the week, Spinal Health Week was included in various radio news broadcasts across Australia, including ABC Sydney, as well as in various online news stories. We also had several local MP’s who also got involved – spreading the word about Spinal Health Week on their social media platforms.

Once again, we would like to congratulate all our members for their tremendous efforts during Spinal Health Week. It is these essential public engagement campaigns that allow us to demonstrate the effectiveness of chiropractic care to our local communities and beyond.

We will have a full update to come in the July edition of The Australian Chiropractor – so keep your eyes peeled!
