Sleep and Mood in Pain Management Webinar
1 July @ 8:30 pm - 9:30 pm AEST
Free - $99.00
Chronic pain, sleep disturbance, and mood disorders share a complex and interconnected relationship. Research shows that approximately 50% of individuals living with chronic pain also experience insomnia or clinically significant sleep disturbances, while a similar proportion of people with insomnia report chronic pain. Improving sleep quality is therefore a critical component of effective pain management, with evidence indicating that better sleep can reduce pain severity by up to 14% while enhancing overall daily functioning.
In this evidence-based webinar, we will explore the tri-directional relationship between pain, sleep, and mood. The session will examine the physiological, psychological, social, behavioural, and lifestyle factors that contribute to the high comorbidity among these conditions.
Attendees will gain practical insights into assessment strategies that can be integrated into clinical practice, including validated self-report questionnaires and brief physiological screening tools for identifying sleep and mood disturbances. The webinar will also outline a holistic, multidisciplinary treatment framework encompassing lifestyle modification, nutrition, psychological strategies, and behavioural interventions.
Time: 8:30–9:30pm AEST
