- Biography
Dr Aron Downie is a practising chiropractor in Wollongong with 30 years of professional experience and serves as a clinician-researcher in the Department of Chiropractic at Macquarie University. In 2020, he earned his PhD from the University of Sydney, focused on improving the diagnosis of spinal pathology presenting as back pain.
Aron has established new guidelines to assist in screening patients for serious pathology within chiropractic and other primary care environments. He is regarded as an emerging leader in this field, with over 2,500 journal citations (Google Scholar, 2025) and is ranked in the top 0.1% of researchers worldwide for back pain (Expertscape, 2025).
