Giving Back in 2021

  • 17 December 2021
  • Christmas, Giving Back, Public engagement
|||||||||

As with every December, the ACA held their annual Christmas charity drive, ‘Giving Back’ Week from 6 to 12 December. For one week chiropractors around the country were able to collect gifts and donations to give to those in need.

This year’s giving back campaign has been a great success, with many practices across the country getting involved in this very special end of year campaign.

Spreading the joy of giving and magic of Christmas is something the ACA looks forward to each year.

This year donations included new, unwrapped toys, clothes, non-perishable food items, toiletries, monetary donations and even free services for those who could offer a trade or specialty. Some chiropractors even went one step further, accepting donations in lieu of payment, on a selected date, while still collecting donations for the rest of the week.

Some of the charities receiving donations included Food Bank Australia, the Salvation Army, Children in Care and the Red Cross.

Many practices were involved this year and we extend our appreciation for their generosity in being involved in the campaign.

To highlight a few, St James Chiropractic were able to donate hampers to six families in need via Food Bank WA, Croydon Chiropractic Centre collected an array of gifts from patients in lieu of payment through their ‘Toys for Treatment’ theme.

“After a tough two years, the local Salvos at Mooroolbark in Victoria are gearing up to make Christmas a joyful one for their local community. Financial and material donations for the program come from local families and businesses in the community, such as Croydon Chiropractic – who have held a ‘Toys for treatment’ day for the past 19 years, where clients bring toys for the Christmas appeal in exchange for their treatment,” says The Salvation Army on Facebook.

Wynyard Chiropractic graciously accepted non-perishable food essentials and personal care items for Food Bank Australia, in addition to selling Christmas socks that raise money for the Brainchild Foundation. Chelsea Chiropractic & Wellness donated care bags for children in foster care and Young Chiropractic donated to the Salvation Army Christmas appeal.

“People love being involved, they love the concept of it, and they love going out and taking their kids shopping for donations… it’s been so well received. We’ve also done a lot of cash donations this year…it certainly does spread the love of Christmas!” says Chelsea Chiropractic & Wellness.

The ACA is greatly appreciative of all those who got involved in the magic of giving this Christmas.

The ACA looks forward to holding the campaign again next year.
