Dr Michael Swain, Chair
Dr Michael Swain is an allied health practitioner with clinical experience in managing adolescents with spinal pain and musculoskeletal conditions. He is an early career researcher, completing his PhD at the University of Sydney in 2019 in the area of pain and injury in adolescents and young adults.
His doctoral studies included analyses of large international datasets estimating the prevalence and impacts of back pain in adolescents, and feasibility testing of mobile text messages (SMS) in the clinical follow-up of adolescents with MSK pain.
Dr Lyndall Daley, Communications Officer
Dr Daley graduated from RMIT in 2004 with a double bachelor degrees in Clinical Sciences and Chiropractic. In 2012 she completed her Post Grad Dip in Sports Chiropractic and also has a Level 1 S & C qualification. She grew up in Northern NSW near Byron Bay before moving to Melbourne to study. After practicing in Qld for 10 years, she then moved back to Melbourne.
Lyndall now works in Reservoir in the northern suburbs at a multidisciplinary clinic with physio, osteo, chiro, podiatry, clinical Pilates and a rehab gym. She enjoys mentoring the 15 practitioners at the clinic. Lyndall played for QLD Fire cricket team in the national league for 6 years, while in practice, and now works with Essendon Maribyrnong Park Premier Cricket Club.
Dr Brad Immermann, Committee Member
Dr Immermann is a Titled Sports Chiropractor, holds a Master of Clinical Chiropractic and a Master of Exercise Science (Strength + Conditioning), and is the current Chair of AICE Sports & Exercise Clinical Practice Group. Coupled with his nine years of clinical experience, Brad has been passionate about health and fitness from a very young age, and over the years has developed a strong interest in Exercise Science and Exercise Rehabilitation.
Working with a variety of athletes from sports including soccer, weightlifting, powerlifting and running, Brad can also assist with injury prevention, rehabilitation and athletic performance. His knowledge and experience within Chiropractic and Exercise Science has provided him with a unique skill set, ensuring athletes and individuals leave feeling better and have a strategy to return to their sport performing at a higher level, and/or their everyday lives.
Dr Alex Pucciarelli, Committee Member
Dr Pucciarelli is a highly qualified and dedicated Chiropractor and Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) with a robust educational background and a passionate commitment to addressing sporting and musculoskeletal injuries. His professional journey commenced with a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science from the Australian Catholic University, laying the foundational expertise in the field. Building upon this, Alex pursued advanced studies, completing a Master of Chiropractic and a Master in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
Alex’s multifaceted background, combining academic knowledge, practical experience, and a deep passion for athlete well-being, positions him as a valuable contributor to the evolving field of Sports Chiropractic. His accolades and leadership roles underscore his dedication to excellence in both academic research and practical application within the Sports Chiropractic community.
Dr Adam Rowney, Committee Member
Dr Adam Rowney is a chiropractor and sports scientist with a passion for helping people of all abilities achieve their health, rehabilitation and performance goals. After completing a Bachelor of Sports Science, he worked in junior cricket development and later delivered health and fitness programs for career firefighters. He then completed a double Bachelor of Science and Chiropractic to further his expertise in conservative injury management and natural approaches to optimising health and performance.
Adam has worked extensively with cheerleading teams and now primarily supports endurance athletes, including trail runners and triathletes. He is currently undertaking a Master of Research at Murdoch University.
Dr Luke Nelson, Committee Member
Dr Luke Nelson is a titled Sports & Exercise Chiropractor, Running Coach, and Strength Coach with over 20 years’ experience in private practice in Melbourne. He has lectured widely across Australia and internationally on sports injuries, with a particular focus on running and endurance athletes.
His contributions to the profession have been recognised with Fellowship of the Australasian Institute of Chiropractic Education (2019), Fellowship of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation (2024), and the Australian Chiropractors Association Chiropractor of the Year Award (2022).
Luke also hosts The Rehab Runway Podcast, where he sits down with world-leading clinicians to explore the science and practice of managing running injuries.
