- Name
- Dr Brett Lillie
- Biography
At 26, Brett thought he was Superman. A motorbike accident proved otherwise — and introduced him to chronic pain. What followed was a decades-long search to understand movement, pain and rehabilitation. From postgraduate study in paediatrics at RMIT to Prague, where he immersed himself in the work of Janda, Lewit and Kolar, Brett became fascinated by how we learn to move — and what that can teach us about pain, performance and recovery.
His curiosity led to further study in orofacial pain, TMJ therapy and sleep medicine — collecting a few more postgraduate qualifications along the way and culminating in his 2023 book, Rediscover Your Athlete Within.
Now living in Hobart, Brett remains endlessly curious about people, movement and what helps us keep doing the things we love.
