Connecting through Events 2023

Cue the pens and diaries, it’s the start of a brand-new year and a fresh set of events for 2023 to unite the membership and the profession. It’s going to be an enormous year with the ACA officially hosting the 17th World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) Biennial Congress in October! The congress will be held on the Gold Coast between 11-14 October and is going to be one of the biggest years to date with a myriad of events and we’re thrilled to be providing our members with countless opportunities to grow, connect, discover, and feel supported in the journey of ongoing learning.

We’re also confident that our 2023 events will deliver valuable networking opportunities, as well as opportunities to develop CPD and meet all of your CPD checkpoints for the year! For more information on how to develop a CPD learning plan, visit members.chiro.org.au/cpd

With so many in-person events planned across the country, we encourage all members to utilise these as golden opportunities to reconnect with colleagues old and new.

Chair of the CPD Committee, Dr Billy Chow says 2023 is going to be ACA’s best year yet with so much to look forward to in the pipeline for our members. “At the beginning of each year, I always get excited about all the ACA CPD opportunities for members to participate in. 2023 offers our members even more excitement and opportunity to learn and network, with the 17th WFC Biennial Congress happening on our own doorstep.

The ACA has collaborated with the WFC to host the international conference which will attract delegates from around the world. We’ve worked closely with Dr Richard Brown, Secretary-General of the WFC to create an engaging program full of amazing speakers from Australia and across the globe. The CPD Committee continues their commitment to develop and organise CPD events that cater to the broad and diverse interests of the ACA membership.

WFC Biennial Congress 2023

Undeniably the biggest event for 2023, the ACA will be hosting the 17th World Federation of Chiropractic Biennial Congress, which will be held on 11-14 October 2023 on the Gold Coast. It is estimated that the congress will attract more than 1,000 delegates from Australia and around the world. This major international event will take place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre. We look forward to seeing all our members take advantage of the event being held here in our own backyard! The Gold Coast is one of the most visited and recognised cities in the Asia Pacific region for business events and vacations. The region is well suited for major events, having hosted the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and with South East Queensland confirmed to host the 2032 Olympics.

This is a great opportunity for the ACA and Australian chiropractic, and we are honoured to be hosting such a prestigious event. The ACA extends its gratitude to sponsors Tourism Australia and the QLD government. All members are invited to submit research abstracts for consideration for the event. There are over US$25,000 in prizes available for the best papers and best posters. The abstract submission deadline is 1 June 2023. So, make sure to get those abstracts spick and span!
